Alkaline Water is achieved through the slow release of hydrogen ions, along with minerals such as calcium, potassium, and magnesium.
The pH increaser media cartridge is filled with these ceramic balls and uses a depth-filter flow configuration to provide sufficient contact time to raise the pH. For consistent pH levels, we recommend using Reverse Osmosis feed water. On-site adjustment of the flow rate to meet your pH goals is required. We recommend running the water for 15-30 seconds each time the cartridge dispenses water to flush the water within the cartridge before consumption. This will optimize the pH, as the pH and dissolved solids will increase during non-use within the cartridge.
CAUTION: Never isolate the cartridge by closing shut-off valves before and after the cartridge. Isolating the cartridge can increase the pressure beyond design specifications, resulting in cartridge failure. Install after the Reverse Osmosis storage tank! Change the cartridge every 12 months. 2.0 GPM, 4″ x 17.5″.
